1. INTRODUCTION / ABSTRACT / EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Easter Island remains as mysterious today as when, on Easter Sunday 1722, a Dutch Captain, Jacob Roggeveen, landed his ship on the small Pacific island of Rapa Nui, and arrogantly renamed it Easter Island. The nearly 900 enigmatic, stone statues of stylized torsos (moai), that were found, have been the subject of wild speculation ever since. Moai are often referred to as ‘The Easter Island Stone Heads’ because many reports and pictures showed only the head protruding from the ground.

There is no written record of who made them, why they were made, nor when, so the evidence that we do have of their history is circumstantial. Many statues have been placed on stone platforms (ahu) around the Island. There are also upright statues on the slopes of an extinct volcano, Rano Raraku, that are buried up to their necks. On excavation it is discovered that the heads are actually torsos, that the backfill is an evenly consistent soil of varying particle size (regolith) in which stone tools (toki) are randomly found, and that even the half-buried moai are placed onto platforms1.

There is a mystery as to how this could have happened. Is the backfill around the moai natural, or did humans put it there? And if it was done by people, then why? Was it on purpose, to bury the moai, or was the burial of the moai a by-product of another endeavor altogether? This paper argues that the accepted academic explanation for the burial of the moai of “erosion caused by deforestation”, is inaccurate for a number of reasons, and proposes that all this backfill material across the southern slope of Rano Raraku was excavated from underground in an extensive cave construction operation, and placed around the moai by the basketful, and that this is the reason why the landscape is mounded, why some of the moai lean forward, and why toki are found distributed in the backfill.

2.  THOR HEYERDAHL

In the 1950s Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl, of Kontiki Expedition fame, visited Easter Island with a team of researchers to “solve the mysteries of Easter Island”. He published his findings in Aku-Aku – The Secret of Easter Island, in 19572. This is a fascinating book with valuable historical, anthropological information. Heyerdahl interviewed a number of the locals about their artefacts and traditions and, having gained their trust over many months, was tentatively introduced to their cave system of family hideaways. He discovered that the more influential families each have a secret cave that is handed down the generations to the most trustworthy offspring, in which he or she would secrete their family from the ravages of the periodic warring and slave traders that would appear on their horizon. Heyerdahl relates stories of squeezing through perilous passageways of finely dressed stone, similar to Incan walls, in order to enter some of the caves. On page 66 of Aku-Aku he says, “…the shaft always had neat walls, often of skillfully cut blocks.” By the similarities of Incan walls in Peru and these walls on Easter Island, the construction would most likely have been undertaken during the same era with the same technology. Modern humans do not dress stone as well as this, which leads one to hypothesize that caves have been constructed on Easter Island for thousands of years, and, using an ancient rock-melting technology. On page 71 of Aku-Aku Heyerdahl reports that they “… found an immense number of caves.” And, “These giant refuge caves could have accommodated the whole population of Easter Island.”  (Estimated to be around 2500 in 1956.) Other researchers have since found many more caves on Easter Island and there are You Tube videos available of their exploration.

Fig. 3. This is a photograph that was taken in 1955/6 during Thor Heyerdahl’s archaeological expedition of Easter Island. He unearthed two statues, and more have been excavated since, all of which have been statues of entire torsos, down to the waist, and most, if not all of them, standing on a platform.

Heyerdahl excavated the soil from around two of the buried upright statues and discovered that they are not only heads but entire torsos down to the waist, and what is more, they were placed onto stone platforms (ahu). With the help of the locals, he managed to move and raise a statue, proving that it is possible to do so by hand, with only poles and ropes. He found unfinished moai, half-carved out of bedrock, and he experimented with the stone tools (toki) he found. His team did manage to make some impression on an unfinished statue with these hand tools.

All the statues that have been excavated by various researchers over the years have been found to be full torsos down to the waist, and as all the unburied moai on the island are full torsos, it is not unreasonable to assume, therefore, that all the buried moai on this slope have full torsos as well. This means that there is a layer of carefully-placed backfill of up to five-metre-thick over the entire slope of Rano Raraku. It was obviously carefully placed because only a few of the statues are leaning forward, and this can only be from settlement as the backfill was slowly placed around it, and not sudden inundation by a flood or a mudslide.

3.  ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH

One of the only researchers in recent times to have studied Easter Island in depth is Jo Anne Van Tilburg. She has, since the 1980s, seemed to have had a monopoly on research on Easter Island, and she continues to run the Easter Island Statue Project to this day1. She is an eminent academic, so her findings, one can only presume, reflect the state of scientific knowledge about the moai of Rapa Nui. She invokes the ‘associated artefacts’ principle to explain the relationship between the toki and the moai. Anthropology and archaeology often assume that if an artefact is found in association with a feature, that they are related: that is, that because the toki were found in the excavated material from around the moai, that the moai were carved with these same stone tools. This is an assumption and not necessarily the case. In fact, it is counter-intuitive to imagine that the same tools used to make the moai would be found in the material used to backfill around the upright moai, on ahu, in their final positions, away from the quarry.

Van Tilburg further tells us that Easter Island was previously forested, and that the inhabitants used up all of the trees moving the moai. This, she asserts, without quoting a geologist or a botanist, caused rampant erosion, bringing the soil down the slope to fill in around the moai that are now half-buried. And, she continues to assume, bringing social decline to the population and the end of the statue-building era. This ‘erosion from deforestation’ hypothesis makes no sense for at least six reasons detailed in the following chapter. This hypothesis cannot explain why toki are found randomly in the ‘sediment’ excavated from around the moai, nor why the landscape is mounded, and, nor can it explain why none of the features typical of a landscape formed by erosion are evident in this landscape. One would imagine that in order for the resident academic to claim that the landscape has been formed by erosion, at least one erosional feature would be evident. I do not see one feature in this landscape that could have been formed by erosion.

An archaeological dig of the Easter Island Statue Project, overseen by Jo Anne Van Tilburg, where stone tools (toki) (See Fig. 5) are occasionally found in the material excavated from around the statues (moai). It can be seen that the soil is an even regolith without evidence of stratification or depositional horizons, and that the landscape is evenly mounded without any erosional features.

Fig. 5. Stone tools, called toki on Easter Island, have been found in association with the moai and with the backfill material excavated from around the moai. The fact that these tools, found discarded in the backfill, are mostly still fairly sharp, indicates that they are more likely to have been used as picks in soil than as hammers on stone.

4.  EROSION IS CLEARLY NOT THE ANSWER FOR SIX GOOD REASONS

The official, ‘scientific’, and commonly accepted explanation of “erosion due to deforestation”, as to why many of the Easter Island stone heads of Rano Raraku are half-buried, does not explain why the fill material contains toki, nor why the landscape is mounded. There is no evidence of slumping on these slopes, nor are there the gullies and alluvial fans that are evidence of erosion from pluvial weathering. To this professional botanist and amateur geologist, nothing about the slopes of Rano Raraku indicate an erosional landscape, and this is proven by each of the following six reasons:

Firstly, the lack of trees on Rapa Nui, or even “rampant deforestation”, are no reasons to assume that the soil would erode. As a tree was used by the statue builders, or anyone else, it would, within a season, have been replaced by ruderal grasses and other species which have even more tightly-knitted root systems, and hold the soil better than do tree roots. Even if they clear-felled forests to move the moai, which is highly unlikely, the soil would have been exposed to erosion for less than a year before the ground was covered by ruderal plants, and certainly not long enough to be eroded very much. And, if the roots were not disturbed when the trees were cut down, and there is no reason to do so, and every reason not to, then the decaying roots would have provided stability to the soil against erosion and nutrients for the emergent ground-covers.  (And, what is more, ruderal plant species are generally more productive than trees, so removing the trees could have even increased the carrying capacity of Easter Island and certainly not necessarily brought on social decline. More logical reasons than Van Tilburg’s hypothesis of “erosion caused by deforestation” for social decline, are: slaving; wars; disease; and the introduction of pests such as insects or rats to the Island). Deforestation is no reason to assume any erosion of the soil.

Secondly, the limited area and exposed conditions on the slopes above the moai on Rano Raraku could not have sustained a forest suitable for poles, so logging operations on Easter Island would most likely not have affected the slopes above these particular moai anyway. Also, the statues were carved from the bedrock of these slopes so the topsoil would have had to have been removed before the moai were carved, so there would have been insufficient soil left on the slope to have sustained a forest.

Thirdly, neither rain, nor slumping, nor a tidal wave, could possibly wash soil to form mounds on a slope. Erosion washes soil down a slope and into a basin, and cannot possibly deposit material on a slope. A landscape formed by erosion is characterised by gullies on the slopes and alluvial fans in the basins, and neither of these features are evident in the mounded landscape of the slopes of Rano Raraku. If the backfill around the statues had been from a tidal wave or from slumping of the soil in a mudslide, then all of the statues, balancing on stone platforms, would have been pushed over. As it is, the few leaning moai are evidence of a gradual settling and not a sudden inundation.

Fourthly, pluvial erosion leaves distinct horizons in the deposited sediment and a grade of particle sizes, and toki, being larger particles, would have settled out of the wash first, along with other particles of similar size. From what I can see from photographs of the walls of the excavations, there is no stratification, the backfill material is an even regolith, and there are no depositional horizons, or lenses, which are the hallmarks of sedimentation. Nothing indicates that the backfill around the moai is pluvial.

Fifthly, there is not the catchment area above this slope on Rano Raraku to have held the amount of soil that is evident around the moai. The entire southern slope of Rano Raraku is covered in an almost five-metre-thick layer of backfill that represents an enormous amount of soil, and there is no space above this area, on the side of the volcano, to have held this amount of soil. Also, the moai were carved from this rock only after it was exposed, so the soil to backfill around the moai cannot have originated from the slopes where the moai were carved, unless the soil was moved twice, and this seems highly unlikely.

And sixthly, the patently manufactured toki, artificial in origin, would not be found deposited randomly in a naturally eroded sediment, as they are in the backfill material around the moai. This fact alone means that the backfill material is not a naturally eroded or deposited sediment, and cannot have been placed around the moai by erosion or volcanism.

Clearly, the “erosion caused by deforestation” hypothesis cannot be the explanation for the burial of the moai. Whether Van Tilburg is lying about this or simply confused, remains to be seen. She could have jumped to her ‘erosion’ conclusion without consulting a botanist or a geologist, and it could be a naïve mistake, but arguably inexcusable for a publishing academic at the forefront of science, purporting to hold up the banner of objective enquiry. No geologist will be able to explain how pluvial erosion can deposit a mounded landscape on a slope, and no botanist who has seen the profusion of ruderal emergents after a forest is clear-felled, will support the ‘erosion caused by deforestation’ hypothesis. One reason for this lack of research and shoddy conclusion, is that it is on purpose, and not naïve at all.

Each of the six arguments above prove that erosion is not the reason the moai are half-buried. And, it is because the evidence is so blatant that we must assume that Van Tilburg, willingly or unwillingly, is complicit in a conspiracy to keep these caves of Easter Island a secret.

5. VOLCANISM

Volcanic ash can deposit on a slope, but it should be easy enough to determine if a regolith is volcanic in origin or not. The last eruption on Rapa Nui was apparently more than 250 000 years ago, so if it is volcanic ash that has half-buried the moai, then someone must have carved the moai more than a quarter of a million years ago. Even if some of the backfill around the statues can be shown to be volcanic debris, discarded toki could not have naturally been included, so the soils where the toki are found are certainly not volcanic. And, it seems from the record of when they are found during the course of a dig, that the toki are spread fairly evenly throughout the backfill around the moai. This suggests that the regolith has been artificially placed and is not natural, volcanic or otherwise.

Fig. 7. The southern slopes of the extinct volcano Rano Raraku, showing many moai buried up to their necks in the mounded landscape. There is no evidence of erosion in this landscape. This mountain is called ‘The Nursery’ as it is here where most of the moai of Rapa Nui originate, carved from the volcanic tuff, deposited here during an ancient eruption of Rano Raraku.

6.  THE CAVE-EXCAVATE THEORY FOR THE BURIAL OF THE MOAI

There is an extensive network of caves on Easter Island, in which, it is said, the entire population would hide away when they saw a potential warring or slave-raiding ship on the horizon. Some of these caves were explored and documented by Thor Heyerdahl in hair-raising accounts in his book on Easter Island called Aku-Aku.

The cave-excavate theory reasons that all the material back-filled around the half-buried moai is material excavated from caves. The explanation for the fact that toki are found randomly in the backfill, is that the caves were dug with toki that were either lost in the dark, or discarded in the spoil as it came out of the earth, basketful by reed basket full, to be dumped on the slopes around the moai, many years after their construction. A possible reason that many of the toki that have been found are still fairly sharp, is that they were used for digging soil and not for hammering stone.

The mounded landscape of the southern slopes of Rano Raraku is a logical result of miners tipping their basket-loads of cave-excavate material at the ends of extending pathways, in conical mounds, as mining talus is deposited today, albeit with machinery.

The evidence suggests that the moai were gradually filled around and not inundated. Only a few of the statues are leaning downhill, and this can be explained by the gradual compaction of the incremental fill behind the statues, and, rather than push the moai over, this makes them lean into the less-compacted material in front of and below the statues.

This theory is really easy to prove by anyone on Easter Island with permission to dig a hole on Rano Raraku. Simply dig a hole in this slope, not near any moai, and see if any toki are found. If toki are found then it can be assumed that they are associated with the backfill and not with the moai, so they would then be confirmed to have been used for digging out the backfill and not for carving the moai. If no one is given permission to dig a hole on this slope, then we will know that there is a conspiracy of silence with regard the caves of Rapa Nui. And, although finding toki away from the moai will prove that the toki are associated with the backfill, not finding any toki will not disprove the cave-excavate theory.

If the fill material around the moai was the waste material dug away from the slopes above, (ie. to expose the bedrock to be able to carve out more moai), then surely they would have valued their moai enough to raise them in their holes and not bury the objects of their labours. It would seem, from the apparent disregard for the moai by the back-fillers, in not even keeping them upright while they back-filled, that the carvers of the moai were a completely different and much earlier civilisation to that of the back-fillers.

Heyerdahl tells us that the exact locations of the entrances to each of the many hundreds of separate caves on Easter Island are jealously guarded family secrets. Perhaps this is the reason why the cave system below Rano Raraku remains unknown to the public to this day. And, although it is difficult to understand why, perhaps the reason why the ‘official’ position on the cause of the backfilling around the moai is ‘erosion’, is to hide the truth about the caves of Rapa Nui.

7.  CONCLUSION

Digging caves on Easter Island was a survival strategy with an enormous incentive, and could very well be the reason why: 1. Huge amounts of material has been filled in around many of the moai on Rano Raraku, even burying them up to their necks, why; 2. The backfill material contains toki, and, why; 3. The slopes of Rano Raraku are mounded. The mammoth task of filling in around the moai is reminiscent of the giant undertaking of carving, transporting and raising the moai themselves, but, from the obvious disregard for the moai, the back-filling was undertaken during a subsequent era to the carving.

The inundation of the moai is unlikely to be volcanic for two reasons, firstly the last eruption of Rano Raraku was 250 000 years ago and that would mean that the moai were carved before then, and secondly that toki, which are man-made stone tools, are found in the backfill.

The cave-excavate theory proposes, by the volume of backfill that was moved, that this cave excavation period is indicative of a time when Easter Island had a large, healthy, working population which needed vast amounts of space underground in order to hide everyone from the periodic slave-raiding and warring ships that plied these waters.

It is possible, and from the evidence most likely, that the approximately five-meter-thick layer of soil covering the entire southern slope of Rano Raraku is material excavated from caves. The enigma of this backfill material being peppered with toki, is explained by the cave-excavate theory as: rather than being associated with the moai, the toki are instead associated with the backfill, and, judging by how sharp many of them still are, toki are more likely to be picks used for digging caves, than hammers for carving moai.

Free Energy vs. Environmentalism, or is New Energy the Common Ground.

In a recent debate between Sterling Allan, a free energy advocate, and Joel Carlinski, an environmentalist  (See http://pesn.com/2010/08/09/9501683_Why_Liberal_Environmentalists_Dont_Flock_to_Free_Energy/ ), I was surprised to find an argument between ‘green’ advocates, both of whom I am sure would agree that the New World Order and their version of Common Ground, is not the solution.

Allan questioned Carlinski’s scepticism of the ability of abundant, clean energy to solve environmental problems. Allan clearly believes that free energy will reduce pollution and raise living standards. Carlinski says free energy buffs are chasing a pipe-dream that will not solve environmental problems, because, he says, many problems are not related to how energy is obtained.

It seems that the disagreement between these representatives of the free energy movement and the environmental movement, comes down to definition, and Carlinski exposes this in the opening sentence of his essay ‘Free Energy As A Political Ideology’, when he says: “There is an extensive subculture of people who think it is possible to build a device that produces more energy than it needs to run itself.” He shows his scepticism of this idea of ‘overunity’ by saying that it would revolutionise modern physics. His view is well-founded because to date no one has revolutionised physics by proving overunity or perpetual motion.

It is true that so-called free energy does seem to be free, like air, but, in keeping with the first law of thermodynamics, which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, we can rationalise that the energy used to drive these free energy devices must come from somewhere, and must be used up in the process. Perhaps overunity is indeed a myth and cannot be achieved, and so-called free energy devices actually do cost and do use up the potential energy or latent energy of the system, and is therefore not free at all.

If free energy buffs realised this subtle difference, and took into account the environmental cost of production and maintenance of their devices, and environmentalists realised that it is new technologies, used responsibly, that will give us a greater ability to solve environmental problems, we will have more common ground between everyone. If free energy buffs did not pretend that their devices “produce more energy than they need to run themselves”, then we could come to some agreement about the subject.  Clearly the energy used to drive the device must have been supplied by something in order to create the magnetism, or field, or momentum, or potential, in the first place. Even if it is immeasurably small, and immediately re-supplied by ‘Universal Energy’, it is logical to agree that the first law of thermodynamics holds, and to agree that however small it is, there is some cost to the environment from which the energy is taken.

I think that we could resolve this argument once and for all, and realise that we are all on the same side, if free energy buffs took note of the environmental maxim that there is no such thing as a free lunch, and started calling themselves new energy buffs instead. Let’s drop our arguments and work together on getting this revolutionary information out there so we can start devising ways in which we can use it to heal our planet from the scourge of corporations, governments and the New World Order.

The concept of abundant, cheap energy is indeed a double-edged sword, bringing with it a responsibility of custodianship to all those animate and inanimate beings without access to such energy, including Earth. With the ability to produce things cheaply, we could quickly inundate the planet with garbage. There is, however, a good chance that New Energy will be used responsibly because, since everyone will have equal access to abundant energy, and we will all be able to produce anything we want, so our wants will decrease, especially since we cannot sell stuff to people who can produce what ever they want themselves. Knowing that we can, we may no longer feel the need to exploit, and we all might start to develop a more nurturing ethic instead.

I trust that a New Energy revolution will be concurrent with a consciousness revolution.

Watch out for hoaxes, and confirmation bias.

Finding the balance between gullible and closed-minded is walking a fine line, set with many pitfalls. The Net is awash with information on absolutely anything you wish to hear. And the more you want to hear it, the more you will find it. It is human to seek out confirmation, as a form of acceptance, to give ourselves the figurative pat on the back that, as children, we yearned for from our mothers, to confirm that we are ‘okay’ and that we ‘belong’. We are naturally biased towards people who agree with us, so it is easy and very natural to fall into the trap of ‘confirmation bias’. So when the Net pops out the very thoughts that we were thinking, it does not make what we think right, or even on the right track.

During my many hours of surfing the Net I have found that, on average, for most subjects searched, only one in ten websites are worth quoting. In my layperson’s opinion, only one in ten website owners have enough of a grasp of what is going on around us in our world for me to be able to make any sense out of what they have to say. Nine out of ten website authors I have found on any search into unexplained mysteries do not seem to have the information that I have found, and, therefore, from my perspective, do not display a cogent understanding of the subject. Now I realize that with my experience I have a preconceived idea of reality, so I have to be extremely careful to keep an open mind and not allow these ideas to cloud my vision and influence my belief.

On average, out of every ten websites searched on the subject of unexplained mysteries: a few of them are making money from searches of the keywords and gullible spenders; a few of them are proclaiming the truth but trying to fool people with hoaxes; a few of them must be plain stupid to say what they say; a few are too trusting and are simply innocently misled and now honestly believe the establishment fable; and a few out of the ten are funded to actively promote the establishment viewpoint as consensus. The subject of Global Warming is a classic example. You can find every opinion and every angle represented on the Net. So certainly we must be careful of being gullible and falling for hoaxes, but we must also guard against only reading or believing websites that confirm our preconceived opinion. To get the most out of the information that is out there we must be open to everything, yet discerning enough not to waste our time with irrelevancies. A rational researcher will not suffer from gullibility or confirmation bias, and over the years of my enquiry I have endeavoured to retain a rational interest in the how’s and why’s of everything. This is how I have formed my ‘out there’ world view that I espouse in Exploring Mystery. And I am open-minded enough to change my mind whenever I hear a more convincing argument.

The Elongated Skulls Mystery – Does Earth belong to the Cone-heads?

People who know more about anatomy than I do, have said that the many elongated skulls which have been found around the world, are clearly not the results of genetic defects (inherited abnormalities), congenital deformation (birth defects), or inflicted deformity (cranial binding).

elongated cone-head skullThis seems obvious when you consider that the volume of some of these skulls has been found to be twice that of a normal human skull. These elongated skulls are not human by any stretch of the imagination; brain capacity cannot double in that many individuals unless it is a genotype, in other words, a genetic lineage that breeds true. A DNA test should be definitive, as long as we can trust the laboratory to be independent and allow full access to their research.

A certain amount of caution is required during this period before ‘disclosure’, where the official position of ‘science’ is that “there are no such things as aliens”. There is a network of paid propagandists for the powers-that-be who promote this position, and this seven-decade-long effort, since ‘The Battle of Los Angeles’ in 1942, has been called the UFO Cover-up. The reason for this cover-up is to be able to secretly reap the rewards of their liaison with a species of grey who are giving them ‘alien technology’ in return for permission to man an underground base and to continue their experimentation on humanity unhindered. It is in the interests of the powers-that-be to deny the existence of aliens to keep their income stream from this source going for as long as possible. Part of this denial programme is the burial in vaults underground, never to see the light of day, of all the evidence of giants and non-human skulls that they can lay their hands on, and they have a budget of trillions. The powers-that-be buy up every crashed UFO as fast as possible and secret it away for ‘reverse engineering’. Not only do they remove all the evidence under total secrecy, they institute a programme to make people believe that it never happened, and that the people who do believe that it did happen are crackpots.

There is no fossil record of giants nor of elongated skulls having evolved on Earth, so it is more than likely that they are both extraterrestrial. There is an outside chance that a previous civilisation of humans bred giants and elongated skull individuals and that all the evidence of gigantic humanoids and oddly-shaped skulls that has been found around the world is a remnant of a genetic engineering experiment in evolution that died out when David slew Goliath. Whether these oddities are terrestrial or extraterrestrial is certainly one of the first questions to be asked, so by removing the evidence, the powers-that-be hope to avoid embarrassing questions about aliens, UFOs, free-energy, and where they receive their technology.

The UFO Cover-up is, to my mind, the reason that more giant bones and elongated skulls have not surfaced in science, complete with DNA analysis: because it would be found that they are not human. The powers-that-be would have difficulty upholding the lie that aliens do not exist and that we have had no contact with extraterrestrials when humanoid DNA, that is alien to human DNA, is discovered on our planet already. Part of the UFO Cover-up is to discredit all ‘alien research’ and ‘character assassinate’ the researchers. In fact Paul Vigay was a UFO and crop circle researcher who, I believe, was literally assassinated by the powers-that-be because he would not co-operate.

Elongated skulls have been found in countries around the world from as far afield as Egypt, Iraq, Indonesia and South America, indicating that they belonged to a world-wide civilization that could have had something to do with the building of the megalithic monuments in these countries. So many elongated skulls have been found in Peru, famous for the ‘cyclopean’ stonework at Machu Piccu and Sacsayhuaman, that they cannot all be concealed, and many have found their way into museums. Apparently the final resting place of this particular red-headed cone-head, pictured above, is in the Paracas Museum in Peru.

elongated cone-head skullThese elongated skulls are clearly not human. The jawbones are markedly larger and heavier, are shaped differently, and have different muscle attachment protrusions to a normal human jawbone. These skulls must clearly have had a different evolutionary line to that of humans; they cannot belong to the same genotype. It seems, without a fossil record of the evolutionary progression of this species of humanoid on Earth, that these skulls are alien to Earth.

The Egyptian god Ptah

Many graphics carved on Egyptian temple walls depict so-called gods wearing elaborate headdresses. Having seen many examples of these conical headdresses it was easy to connect the dots between the carvings and the elongated skulls, because the shape is almost identical. And, therefore, because we have the historical and the archaeological evidence, it is very likely that the Egyptian pantheon of gods were flesh-and-blood humanoids with cone-heads.

The particular god with his distinctive conical headdress, in this drawing of an Egyptian temple carving, is holding an ovoid-headed ‘ankh’ and a pterodactyl-headed ‘was rod’. Both of these symbols have a long history of interpretation and misinterpretation. I have my own interpretation that I have explained in Exploring Mystery, and I include the following graphic from page 29 to show these Egyptian symbols, their traditional interpretation and my own interpretation.

was rod ankh and tyet symbol

An explanatation of these glyphs suggests that off-planet beings tamed dinosaurs on Earth at least 60 million years ago. Perhaps this and the many anomalous artefacts, often called ‘ooparts’, that have surfaced that are up to 500 million years old, might one day be seen as evidence for the interpretation that a race of star visitors have been visiting Earth for millions of years, before, during, and after the age of the dinosaurs. The particular race of humanoids with elongated skulls could be hundreds of millions of years old. Our race of earthling humans has only been on Earth for about a quarter of one million years.

And so, the questions remain: Who were this race of cone-heads, where did they come from, are they still watching us, and are they doing so with care or with disdain? Perhaps, it is now through the elite controllers, that these so-called gods continue to callously exploit the resources of Earth, including humans, for their own benefit.

Information about free energy and alien technology cannot be kept hidden forever and soon some credible DNA testing laboratory will produce some results that will rock our world. It might even be a hair sample from this Peruvian skull that will let the cat out of the ‘disclosure’ bag and prove to ‘science’ once and for all that aliens do exist. And perhaps this race of cone-heads have been visiting our planet for longer than humans, or even dinosaurs, have existed on Earth. And, if it came to an argument, that makes this planet more likely to be theirs than ours. Perhaps Earth does belong to the Cone-heads.

New African hominid fossil find

Hi Rod

I’m busy reading your book and I saw this interesting news24 article.

A fossil discovery reveals there were creatures around three million years ago giving new insight into the evolution of a key human trait – walking on two legs.

Hano.

http://www.news24.com/SciTech/News/Foot-find-shows-pre-humans-walked-20120328

Thanks Hano

And here is an excellent summary of the findings of the original article in Nature

http://www.nature.com/news/ancient-human-ancestor-had-feet-like-an-ape-1.10342

What this fossil foot find does is put a homind, more adapted to living in trees, living at the same time in the same place (Ethiopia, 3MYA) as Lucy, a hominid more adapted to bipedalism. And this suggests that bipedalism evolved more than once and that science cannot draw a direct evolutionary line from humans back to the apes. ie. it’s complicated. Sahelanthropus chadensis walked upright and they lived 7 million years ago. This new find with an opposable big toe, showing it could more easily grasp branches, therefore branched off the hominid family tree, and might even be a seperate branch completely.

This of course does nothing to undermine the ancient astronaut theory of alien intervention in human evolution and even supports the idea that we are not directly descended by natural evolution from the apes. The concept of extraterrestrials breeding humans 250 000 years ago using their own and caveman genes, and then breeding an upgrade 100 000 years ago, adding more star visitor genes to our modern human genome, is QED imho and supported by the biological, fossil and Sumerian text records.

More research necessary. And not only in and on the gound, in libraries translating and interpreting the thousands and thousands of cylinder seals and clay tablets that have already been found. I look forward to more and more people demanding to see these artefacts and to publish them so we can all study them to find out more about our history.

Fascinating stuff, thanks Hano.

The Great Pyramid’s 12th Proposed Function

As readers of Exploring Mystery will remember, if they were paying attention, in the chapter on The Great Pyramid, I listed 11 proposed functions for the Great Pyramid that I had unearthed from the vaults of scientific research and the vagaries of man’s musings, namely:

1) A tomb for a pharaoh built around 2500 BC
2) A store-house of mathematical and esoteric knowledge
3) A thought amplification device for manifestation and creation
4) A learning and initiation temple
5) An astral travelling device for interdimensional travel
6) An interplanetary energy transmission device
7) An interplanetary and/or world-wide communication device
8) A calendar indicating the end of cycles
9) A musical instrument or sound amplifier
10) A power plant to generate electrical power
11) A landing beacon for incoming spaceships

UFO Conference – Johannesburg Nov 2011

The November 2011 UFO Science and Consciousness Conference in Johannesburg was a momentous occasion. A posse of experts in their field including big names like Alfred Webre, David Hudson, Wayne Herschell, Lloyd Pye and some highly contentious people like Laura Eisenhower and Kerry Cassidy, enthralled us with their version of ‘The Truth’.

It was put together by South African entertainer turned amateur archaeologist Michael Tellinger, who wrote Slave Species of god, published in 2005. Since then he has been on the trail of the so-called Adams Calendar and the related stone circles all over southern Africa. He delivered a powerful presentation, as did expert after expert on the subjects of alternative research and esoterica generally. Continue reading

South African Stonehenge

11.11.11 saw 22 of us perched on the side of an escarpment in eastern South Africa at a sacred site, erroneously called Adams Calendar, in meditation for the 22 minutes from 11 minutes to 11 until 11 minutes past 11.

The two central marker stones of this megalithic monument trace the daily increment of the shadow of the sun as it traverses the skies over the course of a year from solstice to solstice and back again. The cardinal points are marked with carefully placed stones and, as if that wasn’t proof enough that these upright stones are not naturally occurring, the site is situated on the 31st parallel, the so-called Nilotic Meridian, on which lie the pyramids of Giza and the Great Zimbabwe ruins.

Credo Mutwa says that he was initiated as a shaman here in 1936 and he tells us that legend has it that there is a river of gold beneath it. (Sheba Mine, one of the richest gold mines in the world is situated not far from here).

So, what is an astronomical clock doing on the edge of this spectacular escarpment? The obvious answer is: To tell the time. This calendar can, very effectively, tell the exact date of the solstices, and these are essential markers in the annual seasonal changes during a year.

But, this is in a land where history tells us that no civilisation existed proir to our present so-called civilisation. The natives in this area were apparently primitive pastoralists and hunter-gatherers, and fairly recent immigrants to the area themselves, before the white man came bringing with him his idea of civilisation in the form of clergy, weaponry, machinery and slavery.
Sumerian texts tell us that Enki (the Anunnaki science god) had his abode in the south, in the Abzu, where it was hot as hell and where he oversaw the gold mining operation. This sounds very much like southern Africa. Researchers have associated the multitude of stone circles found in southern Africa with this ancient gold mining civilisation, possibly over 400 000 years old. So, Adams Calendar should more correctly be called Enki’s calendar, because it would more likely have been Enki than Adam who built this timepiece. It was only discovered in 2003 and, in fact, not knowing who built it, it should possibly not be called after anyone, but simply the South African Stonehenge.
Researcher and discoverer Johan Heine continues to take measurements at different times of the year to discover more about the site. Perhaps there are extant Sumerian texts that have yet to be translated that will confirm this hypothesis, but so far, it seems that this could be one of the oldest structures on Earth, possibly even as old as The Grand Terrace of Baalbeck in Lebanon, said to be a rocket launch site built 400 000 years ago!
More research necessary!!!

Christmas presents chemtrails in SA

Happy holidaze?
The Christmas holidays are when office-bound people go to the beach to soak up some well-deserved sunshine. And yet this season,  southern Cape coast beach-goers were presented with a chemtrail sprayed from an aeroplane all along the Cape south coast on Saturday the 23rd of December. For three hours whilst driving east along the N2 towards Knysna, I took photographs of a chemtrail that slowly turned into an unnoticable cloud.  Contrails (vapour trails from jet engines) dissipate within a few minutes, chemtrails (planes spraying chemical poisons found to include aluminium, barium and ethylene dibromide) last for hours and then disperse to remain in the sky as a haze until the particulate matter eventually falls to the ground. Chemtrails are a secretive population control/weather modification project that sprays poisons over cities around the world. Clifford Carnicom seems to have done the most research on this. ( http://www.carnicominstitute.org/index.php?page=articles_by_date )
Now I have proof that they are doing this in SA as well. For the first 10 years of this phenomenon, (beginning in about 1998) the US govt denied it and the EPA refused to research complaints. Now they are saying that chemtrails are to ameliorate global warming. This is one scam on top of another scam. Fluctuations in CMEs of the sun is what causes Earth to warm or cool. (CO2 has little or no effect on global temperatures) (and anyway CO2 is a nutrient not a pollutant). We are being lied to about our environment by greedy people to profiteer from carbon trading, carbon taxes, nuclear power and CFL lightbulbs, and now about chemtrails as an environmental amelioration measure. It is more likely that chemtrails, apart from serving the Illuminati agenda of depopulation (see Morgellons Disease and aluminium toxicity of the soil), are to increase atmospheric conductivity for the more effective spreading of global mind-control signals.
I hear the cry: “Why would they do that?” It is because they can, and they want to control the world so they are doing everything they can to do so. The people of this planet are being systematically poisoned by a controlling elite by many means. (cf. flouride, aspartame, GMOs, pesticides, food additives, nuclear power, and, in fact, the entire sickness industry masquerading as the health-care industry who are looking for sales not cures).   (See The Georgia Guidestones for an insight into their agenda.)

Only by knowing about the controls can we do anything about them. Find out for yourself about this phenomenon of chemtrails and how to avoid the effects. Start asking questions about who these heartless people are that are intentionally poisoning the people of the Earth and how we can stop this atrocity.

The same chemtrail, taken at 15h50 on 23.12.2011 near George, starting to look like a cloud. All those on holiday on the Cape south coast received a Christmas present from the powers-that-be this year: we were all aerially vaccinated with a dose of poison. And undertaken in secrecy, without our permission, means that this is a conspiracy.
I pray that humanity wakes up before we are so dumbed down that we cannot. We must expose this rot before we rot with it. The future of humanity lies in our hands and our open and enquiring minds to guide them to counteract this, and other population control programmes.

The path of truth is littered with obstacles placed by our controllers so look beyond the lies without getting suckered by debunking officials.
The truth is eventually revealed, and by keeping an open mind we are a part of the solution. Chemtrails are not for our benefit.
Be aware people!

Skipper’s Evidence

Joseph Skipper is an active and vociferous Mars researcher. He has reported on evidence from the Hale crater on Mars, showing distinct patterning reminiscent of civilisation. (I included this in my chapter on Life on Mars.)

His latest contribution to the field is an article (#208) entitled Mars Track System and Water, on his website at http://www.marsanomalyresearch.com/evidence-reports/2011/208/tracks-n-water.htm   This is clear evidence of a track system (civilisation) and of water (not too dry or too cold for water to remain liquid) on Mars.

Skipper ends his article by warning us that we must be aware of the information we hear about Mars because it could be fiddled with from Earth’s side and from the Martian side. He says that we should not necessarily believe what we are told: that the temperatures are too low and it is too dry on Mars to support life. He says that all the images that come to us from Mars have beeen doctored in some way.  He says, in the above article, of the photograph below: “in my opinion, both the brownish color field on the left and the gold color field on the right are heavily obfuscated with smudge image tampering layered in with the false color.”

Click on the image to enlarge. Click Back to return.
I have known that NASA tamper with the images they release ever since I read The Mars Mystery, by Hancock, Bauval and Grigsby, in 1998. I have read much evidence for the Face on Mars being an artificial, or constructed, feature. I believe that there was a civilisation on Mars that built many features including The Face, and, of course, if you’ve read my book, you will know that I believe that there is ample evidence for giant sandworms on Mars, at some time in the Red planet’s ancient history.

Skipper’s evidence of tracks and water mean that, contrary to the official position, it is quite likely that Mars does have an atmosphere and that it is still inhabited today.

What are the powers-that-be trying to hide? Is it simply because they want us to believe that aliens do not exist so that they can continue to exploit us by selling us alien technology?
